FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: GCS awarded $60M Contract from US Special Operations Command Victor, New York, August 3, 2006 – Global Communications Solutions (GCS) has been awarded a contract by US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) to supply them with up to 500 quick-deploy, flyaway VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) satellite systems over five years. The program – Special Operations Forces Deployable Node-Medium (SDN-Medium) will deliver satellite communications connectivity to Special Operations Forces. The contract value with options is up to $60 million over five years.
