FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: GCS awarded multi-year contract with US Navy SPAWAR Victor, New York, August 31, 2006 – Global Communications Solutions (GCS) has been awarded a contract from the Department of the Navy Space Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) to supply them with portable satellite communications (SATCOM) terminals. This contract includes a one year base period with 4 one year option periods, making the total potential term of the contract five years with a total value of $40M. GCS’ Hawkeye™ and Cheetah™ quick-deploy, flyaway VSAT terminals were submitted as part of the proposal. “We are proud of the capabilities of these terminals and the fact that they are currently being used in theatre by US war fighters,” said Frank York, President.
