GCS recognized by Inmarsat for BGAN sales and marketing efforts in the broadcast media market
London, UK, October 19, 2006 - Global Communications Solutions (GCS) received an award from Inmarsat at their annual Partner Conference for achievements in the sale of its new BGAN technology. Chris D’Aguiar, Director of Partner Sales and Distribution for Inmarsat announced that “The efforts of GCS have resulted in the closure of a number of key deals and the provision of BGAN services to more than 15 high profile Media clients.” He continued to state that, “To date hundreds of BGAN UT’s have been sold and the number continues to rise and substantial traffic is and continues to be generated in both Standard IP, and streaming class services.” GCS has established itself as a leader in the supply of portable satellite communications equipment and service over the past 5 years, and was therefore chosen to participate in Inmarsat’s beta test program in 2005. GCS signed its first BGAN contract with a major 24-hour news channel weeks after the launch of commercial service.
