L-3 GCS wins SATCOM II contract

L-3 GCS Named as Large Contractor in GSA SATCOM II Program

VICTOR, NY, May 07, 2007 - L-3 GCS, a leading supplier of satellite communication equipment and airtime, announced today that the company has been selected by the General Services Administration (GSA) to participate in a $750 million Satellite Services-II (SATCOM-II) program to provide next-generation, worldwide satellite services to federal, civilian and defense agencies.  

L-3 GCS offerings under the five-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract include mobile satellite services (MSS) equipment and service (Inmarsat, Iridium, Globalstar and Thuraya), Fixed-site and Quick-deploy C- and Ku-band VSAT satellite systems and service, along with turnkey solutions for Emergency Response, Continuity of Operations, and live Video.  Additionally, the contract includes Design, Engineering and Maintenance Support Services for all of the equipment and systems that are available from L-3 GCS under this contract.  “This contract strengthens our position as a leading provider of MSS and Quick-deploy VSAT systems and services to the U.S. Government," said Frank York, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer(??)
